Emergency Medical Technician Program

Registration open – classes starting January 26, 2026.

Night scene of a red ambulance with lights on driving down the road

In partnership with the University of Bridgeport, this course will teach students how to respond to a variety of emergency situations and provide lifesaving care to their patients! Students will be given the knowledge necessary to administer several medications, treat a list of traumatic injuries, and take care of critical patients, all while transporting them to the hospital in the back of a moving ambulance. Students will practice completing 130 hours of a combination of classroom learning and practical skills practice. This instruction will be supplemented with observation time in the clinical setting at Saint Vincent’s Emergency Department.

Students will also have the opportunity to learn from other EMS providers during a ride-along shift at one of our partnering ambulance services, for the full EMS experience! At the end of this course, students will be eligible to test for their National Registry EMT Certification.

Schedule:

  • Monday/Wednesday 6-10 pm

Cost: $1,050

Includes: (State/National Exams Not Included)
